Ending a Hard Year on a High Note, Part II: New Years in Chicago

In Ending a Hard Year on a High Note, Part I: Christmas on the Farm, I gave an overview of the trials and tribulations we faced in 2016 and recapped the much-needed peaceful few days we had at my sister's home. We left Annie's farm feeling well-rested and restored, ready to face what would be a whirlwind week in Chicago to ring in the New Year with Garrett's parents, brothers, and their significant others.

Our time spent in Chicago was filled with belly laughter, outings, quality family time, and, as always, indulgences. The city really is beautiful during the holidays (ahem, their decorations put San Francisco's efforts to shame), and I'm so glad we were able to make it there for the ending and beginning of the year.

2017 will be an eventful one for the Ruhlands. In March, Jacque and Ethan's Baby Ruh will enter the world, and we are oh so excited for this chapter in our family's life. In June, we'll officially gain another sister in Jamie when she and Garrett's older brother Pat say "I do." Two monumental events, with many other fun ones sprinkled in between, are giving us so much to look forward to in the coming year.

Here are some pictures spent from our time in the Windy (and cold!) City. Happy New Year!
